Personal Training In Dublin Just Got Better

I’ve been quiet the last few weeks but that doesnt mean I wasnt doing anything!

On the contrary I have been p r e t t y busy but im still here.

I successfully launched my new training system ‘Athlete Physique’ to a small number of people.

Jay Beasley competed in the NABBA competition in the Olympia Theatre and I just so happened to get the keys to my new Personal training studio just next door to the Olympia that very day! Weird eh?

Dame Street way...

Dame Street way...

Its a quality place; small and personal, yet well equipped and in a perfect location.

Athlete Physique Launch, NABBA And My Birthday

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Jay Beasley competed NATURALY in the ‘first timers’ section of the NABBA (National Amateur Body Building Association) last Night (Sunday 13th September) and my birthday is coming up in less than two weeks I’m in good form.

I even got to meet 6 time Mr Olympia Champion Dorian Yates… He is a very cool guy and had a lot of time for his raving fans… I’m not a ‘raving fan’ now… but back in the day I used to buy FLEX and the all them bodybuilding magazines, in which Dorian was THE MAN!

Im nearly as big as him :-)

Im nearly as big as him :-)

I have the UTMOST respect for his achievements and he’s a cool guy :-)

Jay’s training programme went well and like everyone else that’s gone through it he made some serious progress. He’s chuffed with himself and I’ll be sure to grab him during the week for an interview.

Jay’s preperation for the competition was so good and his programme was so successful in burning fat and gaining muscle I guess it’s about time I did something about it.

Drumroll Please… :-)

My 25th Birthday is on the 24th of September and to mark this ‘momentus occasion’ Ian and I will be releasing the Athlete Physique Training Programme to those who have signed up by MIDNIGHT on the 23rd.

After 11:59 on Wednesday the 23rd of September the doors will be closed and the offer will be gone. Available only to those signed up and there will be no exceptions.

I know you have heard this before…

‘Yea, Yea, it will be back on sale in a couple of weeks…’

Well actually it WILL NOT be back on sale until November at the earliest and it will be full price too.

Did I forget to mention I will be discounting the product for those 3 days too!

If you are interested in the PRELAUNCH OFFER you can sign up below…

-

Or you can CLICK HERE or on the Image below to see an example of  the fat burning circuits that is on Week 3 Day 5 of the programme. Bob Faust (one of the current guinea pigs) particularly liked this one :-)

He needs a spray tan :-)
He needs a spray tan :-)

In case your wondering that is Marc a good friend of mine…

He has been training with me for some time but since starting the athlete physique programme he made some SERIOUS progress, he’s 4kgs heavier, 2% bodyfat leaner and stronger!

He would have been blogging his progress through the programme but his internet/computer knowledge is limited to checking his emails :-)

But here is an idea of the progress Marc made since I got back from Vegas in July.

Not bad eh?
Not bad eh?

So pop on over to see Marc demonstrating one of the fat burning circuits from week 3 of the ‘Athlete Physique‘ Training Programme.

My Strength Testing Results And Athlete Physique Update

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

I recently took up in a new gym in Finglas…

I have been over there on a few reconnaissance missions, basically sussing the place out…

I’m delighted with the place, its perfect.

-Matted areas,

-Seperate weights/dumbbell area

-Kettle bells,

-Prowlers,

-Funky bars I’ve never used before (except in the states)

Don’t be put off either as it is not ALL hardcore equipment and man sweat :-)

There is equipment there to assist untrained individuals and beginners, much better than your standard commercial gym… Perfect for athletes and people training to look better naked alike.

There is no posing and nobody (except Will who may mock you at any given time…it is his place after all) staring at you.

It is the perfect training environment… I arrived one night and Barry told me I wasnt allowed train until I was tested … I done a sneaky little workout and even made a little soundtrack for Dan :-)

I got away with that day but I knew I had to get it out if the way…

I cling on to my personal records too much…they were as follows (like 18months ago and not on the same day)

Weight: 73kg

Bench: 140kg

Deadlift: 240kg (straight bar)

Squat 175kg (stupid femurs)

Upper Bodyweight 300 in 13:47

And i have been 4.2% bodyfat at one stage

Not Now :-)

But in Informed Performance:

‘Everyone tests…even the trainers’

Its stupid really…talking about personal bests…thats like saying

‘I used to be lean…now im fat’

Im stealing wills quote here:

‘I really dont care where you were last year, I want to know where you are now’

TEST, TEST, TEST…otherwise you will never be able to keep track of what is working for you and what isn’t.

If you are training for a good physique you might think that the mirror is good enough..it isn’t. You have to keep track of your performance first. Your performance will be directly related to your physical appearance.

So here’s the results…

Weight: 77.8Kg
Skinfolds: 47.3mm (8 site total)
Bench: 120kg
Pull Ups: 21 (oh yea I counted them and we missed one)
Push Ups: 73 in 60 secs
Inverted Rows: 35 in 60 secs
Trap Bar Deadlift: 220kg

And Last week i got 12:59 on the Upper Body 300

I’m carrying a little extra muscle and fat..some of that has to go for the up and coming boxing season!

Here is a couple of videos of the testing session… have the deadlift and clips from the others in…unless you want to count push ups? You have better things to do right?

-

-

My goals are as follows:

Skinfolds: – 40mm
Bench: 140kg
Pull Ups: 25
Push Ups: 80 in 60 secs
Inverted Rows: 40 in 60 secs
Trap Bar Deadlift: 220kg +

You have to have goals…

‘You cant hit a target you dont hang’

My training has been somewhat disjointed lately and this testing session made me realize I had been just ‘working out’ lately not Training

The only time I am training with a goal in mind is when im fighting/ have a fight coming up. Since the season ended I have been showing up in the gym and rubbing my hands together and saying to myself

‘What Now’

I know better…I would NEVER let a client go on like that and there I was getting off the hook…

Not now… I will be training… working out is for @**holes

The Weekend, Messy But I’m Still Here

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Few Updates Today.

My week was hectic to say the least.

Watching the UFC sat night and getting home at 7am.

To the 300 upperbody workout Sunday after 3 hours sleep AND then running around all day doing consultations and helping out a few people (I ended up in Navan at one stage).

Well not quite his workout but it does add up to 300 :-)

Well not quite his workout but it does add up to 300 :-)

300 Upper Body Workout

25 Bodyweight chins

100 Bodyweight Dips

50 Inverted Rows

100 Push Ups

25 Chins

-Full range of motion on all exercises,

-No half arsed chins or little lady elbow push ups.

-You decide how many reps you do and how much rest you take between ‘sets’ but DO NOT leave the station you are on until you finish the allocated number of reps.

I.e.

On  the chins: you may do 10, then 3 sets of 5 with 30 seconds recovery between each set of 5, doesnt matter once you get the total number done. THEN  move on to the next exercise.

I got 12.59 seconds. Beating my previous record by 43 seconds.

George got 18:48

Dave Gorman got 20:41

Mark Hartigan got 21:25

Fun For All :-)

Easy eh? Time yourself and see how you got on…

Then.

To an early start on monday and a peek at the new Gym ‘Informed Performance’  that evening. (okay that wasnt so bad) The equipment is absolutely ridiculous, I cannot wait to have a go at it :-)

A Thing Of Beauty

A Thing Of Beauty

Theres my vent over with :-)

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Well the last week or two have been interesting.

Some jack ass hacked my site and had google running a muck any time anybody tried to log on! haha

Well its fixed now.

Me and a few of the lads went to the Mr Ireland competition in Limerick the weekend. It was good crack and we were well looked after. There was an after party organised and fun was had… I think Ian Graham thinks leaving your shirt half open will seduce the ladies? :-)

Ian thinks he's the hulk

Ian will be competing in the Mr International Competition in The Button Factory, Temple Bar, Dublin 2.

Athlete Physique Transformation Underway- I Kept It Quiet

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Jay Beasely has been working behind the scenes the last 6 weeks on the Athlete Physique programme.

He lost a steady 2% bodyfat per week and maintained all his muscle mass… hisnext date with the skinfold calipers is sunday and we will be updated again :-)

Physique Development Success System

Physique Development Success System

Yea I kept it quiet but I had to make sure he was gonna stick it out! No offence Jay :-)

But he has been strict and dedicated to the programme and i am confident he will look well on stage in 6 weeks or so…

Kept it quiet

Kept it quiet

I met Jay (properly) only about 8 weeks ago. He was having some hip pain and I helped him out with some advice. I knew him to see and I knew he trained hard so what harm was it to give out a little free advice?

Little did i know he was a stalker!

Well okay he was just curious and about 500 questions later I realised I had found my guinea pig!

He was:

1. Interested

2. Dedicated

3. Highly Trained

and most importantly

4. He had a goal to achieve

-

His goal was to compete in his first show in the NABBA (Natural Amateur Bodybuilders Association) competition here in Ireland… In 12 weeks!

At 17% bodyfat this almost seemed impossible to be stage ready NATURALLY in 12 weeks…

E A S Y…

So we got to work…

I done his skinfolds… Oh I love them ice cold skinfold calipers….dont you? :-)

I’ll use a picture of Ian to demonstrate the fun and my hairy hands…haha

Ian on day 15 of his transformation getting attacked with the dreaded calipers

Ian on day 15 of his transformation getting attacked with the dreaded calipers

Well for the measurements and his progress so far head on over to

—-> http://jaybeasley.wordpress.com

You will have t give him a break he only started his blog in week 4 so it is a little bare but he will be updating it regularly and I already told him he has to go out and buy a sense of humour or people wont read it haha

Thanks for reading!

(because im funny)
